How much does a website cost in Belgium?

WebsitePricing

What does a website cost? The short answer

The price of a website depends on three things: how many pages you need, which features it needs and who does the work. A site builder where you click a site together is cheaper in euros. An agency building a custom site costs more. In between lies a large grey zone, and that is exactly where quotes differ most.

You will not find a table of other providers' market prices here. We have no research that would back such a table, and figures without a source are mostly sales talk. What you do get: what drives the price, which costs come back every year, what our own packages cost and when you are better off not having a new site built.

Three ways to get a website

Build it yourself with a site builder

With services such as Wix or JouwWeb you build the site yourself, starting from a template. The cash outlay is low and you have something online quickly. The costs are elsewhere: your own hours, a subscription that keeps running and the limits of the platform. If you want to move later, you often cannot simply take your site with you. Rates differ by provider and change; check them on their own site.

A freelancer or a template

A freelancer usually adapts an existing theme or template to your business. That is often a middle road: more personal than a site builder, faster and cheaper than fully custom. Do ask who maintains the site afterwards and who holds access to your domain and hosting.

An agency, custom

An agency designs and builds the site around your offer, your customers and your keywords. That takes more work and so costs more, but the site is built to generate enquiries, not just to look neat. Whether to choose WordPress or custom for that is covered in WordPress or a custom website.

What drives the price of a website

  1. The number of pages. A one-page site for a single offer is a different project from a site with a page per service, an overview of your work and a separate page per region.
  2. Design. A design built on your brand takes more time than a template with your logo in it.
  3. Features. A simple contact form is quick to build. A booking flow, a price calculation or a link with another system is separate work.
  4. Copy and photos. If you supply them yourself, the price stays lower. If they have to be written or made, that adds work.
  5. Editing content yourself. An admin area (CMS) in which you change text, a menu or opening hours yourself is extra work at build time. With us it is not a standard part of a package and we quote it on request.
  6. Findability. A site that is not found delivers nothing. A solid technical foundation for search engines belongs in the build, not in a repair round later.

Costs that come back every year

You pay for the build once. A website has running costs after that, and anyone who only looks at the build price calculates too low:

  • Hosting. Your site has to run somewhere, with a secure connection (SSL) and backups.
  • Maintenance. Updates and monitoring keep the site safe and fast. Without maintenance a site ages, especially on WordPress.
  • The domain name. You pay for it yourself and have to renew it on time.
  • Licences. Paid themes or plugins often come with a yearly licence.
  • Changes. New pages or a changed offer cost your agency time, unless you can do them yourself.

With every quote, ask what the first twelve months cover and what is added from year two. Also ask who owns your domain name, your copy and your files if you switch provider later. With us, they are yours.

What Sozially charges

Our website packages have a fixed price, excluding VAT. They are on the pricing page:

  • Launch Site, €950. A one-page website or landing page for a single offer, with a contact form and CTA flow. Duration: 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Business Website, €1,490. A service website with up to 5 core pages, an enquiry path and on-site local visibility. Duration: 2 to 4 weeks.
  • Growth Website, €2,890. A structure with 8 to 10 pages or templates, room for case studies and locations and more extensive tracking. Duration: 4 to 7 weeks.

Every package includes the technical SEO foundation, analytics, a responsive build and the first year of hosting. From year two, Hosting & Care costs €150 per year, excluding VAT. The Local SEO Starter Package (€250 one-time) and ongoing SEO support (€500 per month, three months minimum) are separate and not part of the build price. Is a redesign enough?

A new site from scratch is not always needed. Do you have a site with a solid foundation that is outdated, slow on mobile or unclear about what you do? Then adjusting it can be cheaper than rebuilding. A new site pays off more often when the structure itself is wrong, when you can no longer reach your own content or when the platform holds you back. You can read more on our website redesign page.

Website or webshop?

If you sell products and customers have to check out themselves, a webshop is a different project with different costs: payment provider, shipping, stock. We do not publish a fixed price for it. What drives the price is covered in How much does a webshop cost?. If you work by quote or appointment, a regular website with an enquiry form is often enough.

What to have ready before you ask for a quote

  • The services or products that go on the site, and how many pages you expect.
  • Examples of sites you like, and what you like about them.
  • Whether you supply copy and photos yourself.
  • Who changes the site after launch: you or your agency.
  • Whether you have an existing domain name and site that has to move across.

With those answers any agency can give you a quote you can compare.

The next step

Describe what your business does and what the site has to deliver, and send it to us through the contact page. We will tell you which package fits, whether a redesign is enough and what it costs. Not sure where your current site stands? Request a free SEO audit.
